Grasim Industries Limited’s Advanced Materials Division and its subsidiary Aditya Birla Renewables Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Suzlon Energy Limited to develop and commercialize wind turbines featuring recyclable blades made with Recyclamine® technology, marking India’s first such initiative.

The partnership was announced on 4th November 2026 at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo and focuses on advancing circularity in wind energy by addressing the end-of-life challenges of conventional wind turbine blades, which are typically made from hard-to-recycle thermoset composites.

Recyclamine® technology allows chemical recycling of turbine blades, enabling recovery of valuable materials for reuse, thus supporting waste reduction and sustainability in wind projects.

Suzlon will integrate this recyclable blade technology into manufacturing, while Aditya Birla Renewables will install a turbine with these blades at one of its wind energy projects to demonstrate commercial viability under real operating conditions.

The parties plan to explore wider commercialization and market adoption of recyclable blade wind turbines across India and potentially other markets, aiming to reduce carbon footprint and support circular economy principles in the renewable energy sector.
