NSE IPO: Reported Price Band of Rs 1,700 to 1,785, and What to Check

The NSE IPO is very close now, and one number everyone wants is the NSE IPO price band. As per news reports, the price band has been set at Rs 1,700 to 1,785 per share. For the background on why this share sale is finally happening, see our explainer on why the NSE IPO is happening now. This guide explains, in simple words, what has been reported, what is officially confirmed, and where you can check the final details yourself.
In short: Media reports say the NSE IPO price band is Rs 1,700 to 1,785 per share, with the issue likely to open in mid-September 2026 and list on the BSE a few days later. What is officially confirmed in NSE's offer document is that the issue is a 100 percent offer for sale, with a face value of Rs 1 per share. The exact price band and dates are final only when NSE states them in its official RHP, so please treat the reported numbers as expected, not final.
What has been reported about the NSE IPO price band
According to news reports such as Business Standard and Business Today, the NSE IPO price band is Rs 1,700 to 1,785 per share. This is the range within which investors would place their bids. The final issue price is then set inside this band after the bidding.
Please note one thing clearly. This price band is coming from media reports based on NSE's price band announcement. It has not yet appeared in the exchange's live public-issue list at the time of writing. So treat it as the reported or expected price band until you see it in NSE's official RHP.
The securities are quoted as an example and not as a recommendation.
NSE IPO dates: what reports say
The dates are where reports differ a little, so it is best to be careful here.
Some reports say the NSE IPO is likely to open on 17 September 2026 and list on 24 September 2026. Other reports say it opens on 18 September and lists on 25 September. The bidding is reported to close on 21 September, with the anchor investor round a day before the issue opens.
Because these dates are not the same across sources, do not treat any single date as final. The exact open, close and listing dates are confirmed only in NSE's official RHP and the exchange notices. We have kept the dates as likely, not fixed.
Lot size and how much money it needs
As per reports, the lot size is about 8 shares. That is the smallest number of shares you can bid for in one lot.
At the upper price band of Rs 1,785, one lot of 8 shares works out to about Rs 14,280. Some reports show a slightly different figure, so please confirm the exact minimum from the RHP. Larger, non-retail bids need many more shares, as set out in the offer document.
What is officially confirmed
Away from the reported numbers, a few things are officially confirmed in NSE's offer document (the DRHP filed with SEBI and the exchanges). The NSE IPO is a 100 percent offer for sale. This means existing shareholders are selling their shares and NSE the company does not receive any money from the issue. The face value is Rs 1 per share.
The shares will list on the BSE, because NSE, India's largest stock exchange, is not allowed to list its own shares on its own platform.
Offer size and stake
On the size of the offer, reports and the offer document do not fully match yet.
News reports mention an offer of about 12.64 crore shares, which is close to a 5.11 percent stake, and an issue size of roughly Rs 21,500 to 22,600 crore across the price band. NSE's DRHP had earlier stated up to 14.89 crore shares. The final number is the one that appears in the RHP, so use that as the last word.
Who can bid, and in which category
As reported, the offer is split into the usual investor groups. Reports mention roughly 50 percent for qualified institutional buyers, 15 percent for non-institutional investors and 35 percent for retail investors. The exact split is stated in the RHP.
What about grey market premium (GMP)?
You may see talk of a grey market premium, or GMP, for the NSE IPO. The grey market is an unofficial market where IPO shares are traded before listing, and GMP is a rumoured price gap there.
GMP is not official, not regulated, and can change within hours. It does not tell you what will actually happen on listing day. So it should not be used as a signal, and we are not quoting a GMP figure here. Returns are never guaranteed in any IPO.
Where to check the official NSE IPO details
Since the price band and dates are still coming through news, here is where you can see the official version yourself:
NSE offer documents (RHP) page: nseindia.com offer documents
SEBI public issues section: sebi.gov.in public issues
The BSE public issue and IPO section, where the live and forthcoming issues are listed.
The final RHP on these official pages is the last word on the price band, the dates, the lot size and the offer size.
Key takeaway
Reports say the NSE IPO price band is Rs 1,700 to 1,785 per share, with the issue likely to open in mid-September 2026 and list on the BSE. What is officially confirmed is only the structure: a 100 percent offer for sale, Rs 1 face value, and a BSE listing. Treat the price band and dates as expected until NSE confirms them in the official RHP, and always read that document before deciding anything.
The securities named here, including NSE, are mentioned only to explain market developments and are not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or apply for them.
