Jio Platforms IPO
Jio Platforms has moved closer to its IPO after filing its DRHP with SEBI and receiving observations. The proposed issue includes up to 27 crore fresh shares, while the price band, IPO dates and lot size are yet to be announced. Reports suggest a possible November 2026 launch.

The Jio Platforms IPO process has moved forward after the company filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI in June 2026 and received SEBI's observation letter in August. However, several details needed to apply for the IPO are still not final. This article covers the Jio Platforms IPO issue structure, proposed size, use of funds and the details that investors are still waiting for.

Quick Answer

The Jio Platforms IPO is not open yet. The company has proposed issuing up to 27 crore new shares, but the price at which they will be offered is still to be decided. Jio Platforms has not announced the IPO dates, price band or lot size, although recent reports point to a possible November 2026 launch.

What is the Jio Platforms IPO status?

Jio Platforms filed its DRHP with SEBI in June 2026 and received the regulator's observation letter in August. The IPO has therefore moved past an important regulatory step, but the final price and issue dates are still to be announced.

The company can now move towards the next stages of the public issue process. The final offer document and issue details will provide the information needed for the subscription.

What is the Jio IPO issue size?

JIO IPO issue size in the DRHP proposes a fresh issue of up to 27 crore equity shares. The proposed structure includes no offer for sale. Jio Platforms will issue the shares rather than existing shareholders selling them.

The widely reported figure of around Rs 37,700 crore is an estimate based on expected pricing. It is not a final issue amount because the DRHP leaves the issue price blank. Reports have also put the potential valuation at around Rs 9.5 lakh crore, but this can change once the price is fixed.

Where will the Jio IPO money go?

The DRHP says the proceeds will be used mainly to prepay, in full or in part, certain borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, the material subsidiary of Jio Platforms.

Part of the proceeds can also be used for general corporate purposes. The allocation will depend on the final issue size and offer documents.

What is the Jio IPO date?

The official Jio IPO date has not been announced.

Recent reports said Jio Platforms was targeting November 2026 and preparing investor meetings in markets including the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, London and West Asia. The timing can still change.

So, the Jio IPO date should not be treated as confirmed until it appears in the company's final offer documents or an official announcement.

What are the Jio IPO price band and lot size?

The Jio IPO price band has not been announced yet. The DRHP contains placeholders for the floor price, cap price and issue price.

The Jio IPO lot size is also not available at this stage. Without a price band and lot size, the minimum retail application amount cannot be calculated.

These details are normally available closer to the subscription period.

What about Jio IPO GMP?

There is currently no reliable official GMP for the Jio Platforms IPO.

GMP, or grey market premium, is an unofficial market indicator. Since the price band has not been announced, any unofficial figure circulating before the formal issue details should be treated carefully. GMP is not published by SEBI or the stock exchanges and does not determine the actual listing price.

Conclusion

There is still a gap between the proposed Jio Platforms IPO structure and the details needed to apply. The DRHP sets out a fresh issue of up to 27 crore shares, while part of the money raised is proposed to go towards Reliance Jio Infocomm's borrowings.

The Jio IPO date, price band, lot size and final issue value are still awaited. Recent reports point to a possible November launch, but the final schedule will need to come from the company and its offer documents.

The securities named here are mentioned only to explain market developments and are not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold them.
