Tata Chemicals Limited announced its unaudited consolidated and audited standalone financial results for the second quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026, reporting an 8% growth in standalone revenue to ₹1,303 crore and a 22% increase in EBITDA to ₹292 crore for Q2 FY27, despite challenging market conditions for soda ash and rising input costs impacting consolidated profitability.

Standalone revenue from operations increased by 8% to ₹1,303 crore in Q2 FY27 compared to the same period last year, driven by higher sales volumes and realizations. EBITDA grew 22% to ₹292 crore, benefiting from improved production efficiencies and disciplined cost management, partially offset by rising costs.

Consolidated revenue also rose by 8% to ₹4,177 crore, supported by higher volumes in India and the US. However, consolidated EBITDA reduced to ₹381 crore from ₹537 crore in Q2 FY26, primarily due to lower realizations in overseas subsidiaries, elevated energy and logistics costs in the UK, and temporary suspension of operations in Kenya.

Profit after tax from continuing operations was ₹122 crore standalone, down 31% year-over-year due to higher costs. Consolidated results showed a loss after tax of ₹50 crore compared to a profit of ₹219 crore in Q2 FY26, affected by pricing pressures, energy costs, reduced other income, and lower joint venture income.

The company noted challenging market conditions for soda ash caused by global oversupply and subdued demand, with specific export market pressures such as unremunerative pricing of US exports to Southeast Asia. Inflationary pressures from energy, freight, limestone, and CO₂ inputs were also highlighted alongside geopolitical issues affecting costs.

Tata Chemicals continues to focus on operational excellence, cost reduction, cash generation and disciplined capital allocation while advancing its LIFE strategy to transition towards more sustainability-led and less cyclical businesses across its Living Essentials, Industrial Essentials, and Farming Essentials segments.
